Cowboys Longtime OT Doug Free Put on Reserve/Retired List

DallasCowboys.com reports the team put OT Doug Free on the reserve/retired list this week.

Free, 33, played for the Cowboys for a decade and was a starter for eight years -- starting in 114 games.

Anticipating his retirement, in March Dallas signed veteran tackle Byron Bell to compete for Free's job against Chaz Green.

Free is in the second year of a three-year $15 million deal with the Cowboys. He's scheduled to make $7.5 million in 2017. If he retires, he'll count $2.5 million against the cap.
