Cowboys Kick Off Pre-Draft Visit Season

Among the scheduled visitors are Texas S Kenny Vaccaro and Alabama G Chance Warmack

With the 2013 NFL Draft scheduled for later this month, the Dallas Cowboys began hosting pre-draft visitors on Monday, with University of Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro being among the most notable names slated to make the trip to Valley Ranch.

Dallas, who has a need at safety even after the signing of veteran Will Allen last week, sent two scouts down to Austin last week to attend Texas’ Pro Day and receivers coach Jerome Henderson held a private workout with Vaccaro before that. ESPN Draft expert had the Cowboys taking Vaccaro in the first round in his latest mock draft.

Vaccaro will be one of around 30 players to meet with Dallas before the draft. As Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram points out, the last time Dallas drafted a player in the first round who didn’t come for a pre-draft visit was in 2005--that was DeMarcus Ware.

The Cowboys have the 18th overall pick in the draft.
