Cowboys “Hopeful” Claiborne Will Be Ready for Camp

Mo Claiborne is recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon suffered last September

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne has played three seasons in the NFL and in those three seasons, because of various injuries, he’s never gone through a full training camp.

Now on the slow road to recovery from a ruptured patellar tendon, there’s a good chance that Claiborne will extend his streak of injury-hampered camps to four this offseason.

We are hopeful about [Claiborne returning for] training camp,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said this week, per the Dallas Morning News. “He might be one of those guys who doesn’t start right away in training camp. But that’s a long way off. That’s premature. But I wouldn’t anticipate him being too involved in the spring.”

Claiborne appeared in just four games last year before suffering the season-ending injury in a Week 4, 38-17 win over the Saints on September 28. He finished with seven tackles, a pair of passes broken up and an interception, the third of his short career.
