Cowboys Gearing Up for Scouting Combine

The NFL Scouting Combine begins this weekend in Indianapolis

This week marks the final week for Dallas Cowboys coaches, scouts and other officials to prepare for the NFL Scouting Combine, which will kick off this weekend in Indianapolis, IN.

The Cowboys will be paying special attention to the defensive side of the ball, as its expected to be a defense-heavy draft for Dallas, in response to (A) a season in which they finished dead last in terms of total defense and (B) a unit that’s age is beginning to show.

Most mock drafts to this point have Dallas addressing either the defensive line or safety in the first round. The list of defensive linemen who have been connected to the team via mocks include Missouri’s Kony Ealy, Pittsburgh’s Aaron Donald and Florida State’s Timmy Jernigan. Both of the top two safeties in the draft, Louisville’s Calvin Pryor and Alabama’s Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, have been named as potential first rounders for Dallas.

The Scouting Combine officially starts on Saturday, the 22nd, and will run through next Tuesday.
