Cowboys Fans Climb Aboard Rangers Gear Bandwagon

The Dallas Cowboys might be getting a run for their merchandise money -- right in their own backyard.

Across North Texas, Texas Rangers T-shirts, hats and other gear appear to be outnumbering Cowboys merchandise. Even decked-out Cowboys fans heading to Monday night's game against the New York Giants stopped at the Rangers Pro Shop at the Ballpark in Arlington for duds representing the World Series-bound Rangers.

"It's always been Cowboys up until now," said Derek Schnerzinger of Haltom City, who wore an old Cowboys Super Bowl shirt as he picked out a Rangers shirt.

What's more fun to wear?

"I never thought I'd say it, but it's the Rangers gear now," he said. "I never thought I'd say that."

Even diehard football fans can't resist the Rangers' run for the World Series, especially after the Cowboys' disappointing start to their season.

"I actually went to the store the other day and bought a Rangers T-shirt" said Ellen McCarthy, who was shopping in the Cowboys Pro Shop before Monday night's game. "I wasn't a big baseball fan but, I mean, guess I'm jumping on that bandwagon."
