Cowboys Escape Loss Generally Unscathed

After the preseason opener against Cincinnati last Sunday, the Cowboys were left devastated by a wave of injuries. On Thursday, the team escaped comparatively unscathed.

Safety Mike Hamlin suffered a concussion in the loss, but said he wasn’t all that concerned over the injury. "I'm not worried about it,” he told reporters, per the Dallas Morning News. “I can't really remember the play but I don't think it's that big of a deal.”

Junior Siavii, who is in competition with Josh Brent for the back-up nose tackle spot behind Jay Ratliff, suffered some scrapes and cuts when, in the first half, he made a tackle after his helmet had popped off, but, somehow, escaped with no further injury. Siavii remained to post four tackles and a sack in the loss.

Quarterback Tony Romo emerged from the game with a sore back, the result of one of the three sacks he weathered through two possessions. Romo said afterwards, though, that he was okay.
