Cowboys Cut DE Jason Vega

The move allowed the Cowboys to finalize the signing of DE Everette Brown

The Dallas Cowboys have made the signing of defensive end Everette Brown official by releasing defensive end Jason Vega.

Vega recorded one tackle while playing sparingly in a pair of games for the Cowboys. He also committed two offsides penalties within a minute in the win over the Eagles in Philly two weeks back.

Brown, a second round pick out of Florida State back in 2009, has 49 tackles in 31 career regular season games. He also has six sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception on his resume. He spent two seasons with the Panthers, the team that drafted him, and played in three games with the Chargers back in 2011, his last real game action in the NFL.

Since then, he’s gone to camp with the Lions and the Eagles, but didn’t make the cut in either case.
