Cowboys Cut 2, Sign DE Jarius Wynn

Team also signed running back Davin Meggett to the practice squad

The Dallas Cowboys released two players Tuesday and signed a defensive end.

The club said they cut defensive tackle David Carter and cornerback Chris Greenwood while signing defensive end Jarius Wynn.

The Cowboys, who were already struggling with personnel on their defensive line, lost standout defensive end DeMarcus Ware on Sunday to a strained right quadriceps muscle.

Wynn, who played college ball at Georgia, was taken in the 6th round by the Packers in the 2009 draft, may help pick up the load -- but the team didn't say how soon he may play.

"He played his first three seasons with Green Bay, played with Tennessee in 2012 and the first give games with San Diego in 2013. For his career, he has started four-of-48 games and posted 28 tackles, 7.5 sacks and one pass breakup," the team said in a news release.

The Cowboys also signed running back Davin Meggett to the practice squad.

The 3-3 Cowboys head to Philadelphia this weekend to play the Eagles at noon on  Sunday.
