Cowboys' Confidence in Durant Paying Off

Justin Durant was voted team captain prior to the 2014 season

Through seven weeks, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Justin Durant is rewarding his teammates for voting him a team captain prior to the season.

Durant, who has missed two games with injury, has 39 tackles, two forced fumbles, four passes defensed and an interception. He was involved in both of the fumbles in Sunday’s 31-21 win over the Giants, forcing one and recovering another.

The eight-year veteran Durant draws motivation from the faith his teammates showed in him when they made the aforementioned vote.

"When the guys voted me as captain on the team, I just still can't believe to this day that they believed in me that much," Durant said, per ESPN Dallas. "I think it's part of my job to go out there and show them why they voted me captain. I try to play every play like it's my last. I'm not really a big talker, so I try to lead by example as much as I can."
