Cowboys, Campbell Set To Reacquaint

Not that it means much, as tonight will be just the second game of the preseason, but the Dallas Cowboys have fared pretty well against the Oakland Raiders' new starting quarterback.

Over three full seasons as the Washington Redskins’ starter, Jason Campbell faced the Dallas Cowboys five times, and won just once. Of course, it’s not as though it was all Campbell’s fault--he was just a small part of a miserable span of Redskins football--but trotting onto the turf at Cowboys Stadium on Thursday night won’t conjure many fond memories for the 28-year-old.

Campbell was traded to the Raiders in exchange for a fourth round pick in April, and is set to replace the released (and since incarcerated) JaMarcus Russell in 2010. Tonight will be the first time he has faced the Cowboys since.

The Raiders and Cowboys won’t meet in the regular season. Considering his history against the team, we have a feeling Campbell is just fine with that.
