Cowboys Add OT Brandon Carter To Practice Squad

A Texas Tech product, Carter has spent time with the Saints and Bucs

The Dallas Cowboys filled out their practice squad on Tuesday with the signing of offensive tackle Brandon Carter.

A Texas Tech product, Carter was signed by New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He was cut by the team in April of that year, and was picked up by the Buccaneers, where he spent about a year, appearing in one game.

Fans of Texas Tech or Big XII football might remember Carter best as “that crazy dude with the dyed hair and face paint,” but Carter put together a nice career as a member of the Red Raiders, being named an AP second team All-American in 2008, and being named to the Outland Trophy (for the best lineman in college football) watch list in 2009.

Carter will fill the empty spot on the practice squad left by running back Chauncey Washington, who was promoted to the active roster last week.
