Cowboys 37, Falcons 21: Recap

With Miles Austin out to prove he was no flash in the pan, Tony Romo returned to form and led the Dallas Cowboys to a decisive 37-21 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Arlington on Sunday.

After Atlanta's opening drive, which saw 16 plays and culminated in a Roddy White touchdown reception, Dallas's defense stepped up; by the end of the first quarter, the unit had doubled the Falcons' sacks-allowed total, and they didn't stop there. Ryan was sacked four times in all, threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.

With a 38-yard Nick Folk field goal, and touchdown passes to Miles Austin and Patrick Crayton, Dallas posted 17 unanswered points to jump to a comfortable ten-point lead going into the half.

Michael Turner's two-yard touchdown run, with five minutes left in the third quarter brought Atlanta back within three, but Dallas would answer once again.

Austin caught his second touchdown pass of the day less than three minutes later on a play similar to Michael Crabtree's game-winner over the University of Texas in 2008.

Folk would add a 46-yard field goal before Crayton returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown. By the time Atlanta's Eric Weems caught his first touchdown pass of the season to bring the score to 34-21 with 5:07 left in the fourth quarter, the game was out of reach.

Folk then nailed a 34 yard field goal, effectively sealing the 37-21 victory.

With the win, Dallas moves to 4-2 on the season.
