After working out for the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, veteran cornerback Brandon Boykin told Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he had no injury issues, and blamed Steelers defensive backs coach Carnell Lake for starting a rumor that he did—a potentially career-threatening hip injury, at that.
Well, Lake has responded, but he didn’t back off any of his comments—whatever exactly those might have been—to a fantasy camp recently.
“Well, I’m going to leave it like I left it. I’m going to leave all that at the Fantasy football camp and you guys can take it and go with it and do what you want with it,” Lake said, per Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “But it was what it was. …
“I made some comments that I had at fantasy camp and I’m not going to go back on that. I wish Boykin all the best; he helped us when we needed him, and I wish him the best in his career.”
The Cowboys are the second team Boykin has worked out for since being released by the Panthers in May (after two months of offseason with them), the other being the Falcons, but he’s still without a team.
