Cardinals Impressed by DeMarco Murray

Murray was held to less than 100 yards last Sunday for the first time this season

The Arizona Cardinals came away from their matchup with the Dallas Cowboys with a relatively easy win, but they were impressed by what they saw out of the NFL’s leading rusher, DeMarco Murray.

“Honestly, after playing him, he’s breaking tackles, a lot of times he’s hit in the backfield but he squirts out for 3 or 4 yards,” said Cardinals nose tackle Dan Williams, per Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. “He is definitely as good as advertised.”

In the loss, Murray’s NFL record streak of eight straight games with 100-plus yards was snapped as the Cardinals’ defense held him to 79 yards on 19 carries. It was the second consecutive loss for the Cowboys, as well as the second consecutive game in which Murray saw less than 20 carries.

“He’s the real deal though,” said Cardinals linebacker Larry Foote. “I respect him a lot. Great running back.”
