Byron Jones Already Fluent in Jason Garrett-Speak

The Cowboys picked Jones with the 27th pick in the 2015 draft last week

Cowboys first round pick Byron Jones comes to Dallas already fluent in Jason Garrett-speak.

Jones’s coach at UConn when he arrived was Randy Edsall, who, like Garrett, approaches football with a strict day-to-day philosophy-- “win the day,” “stack good days on good days” and so forth. So when he heard Garrett use that exact language when he visited Valley Ranch prior to the draft, he felt right at home.

“[Edsall] was always talking about winning the day, stacking good days on top of good days,” Jones said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. “I actually heard Coach Garrett talk about it in my meeting, so that's perfect because I have lived by that quote ever since I was a freshman in college.

“So those guys in combination, that quote is going to stay with me for the rest of my life.”
