Brandon Jacobs Released By The Giants

Jacobs was released Friday after he and the Giants couldn't agree on a restructured deal

Running back and long-time tormentor of the Dallas Cowboys Brandon Jacobs was released by the New York Giants on Friday after he and the team couldn’t agree on a restructured deal, bringing on the end of an era for the Cowboys-Giants rivalry.

Jacobs was, by quite a large margin, the most outspoken trash-talker on the Giants over the past few seasons, playing a large role in making the rivalry--while the least historic of the Cowboys’ rivalries--one of the more heated.

Jacobs won two Super Bowls with the Giants, but saw his role diminished over the past couple of seasons as Ahmad Bradshaw emerged.

Last year, Jacobs made us yell and throw things at our TV sets when he hurdled both Terence Newman and Gerald Sensabaugh (as seen in the photo above) in the same game. He won’t be missed, at least not by us.
