‘Boys Sign King, Round Out Staff

The Dallas Cowboys signed Bob King last night as a defensive assistant, replacing the departed Dat Nguyen and completing the coaching staff for 2010.

King served the past two years as West Texas A&M's defensive line coach. Before that, he spent two years coaching defensive tackles at Baylor University, in Waco.

Prior to last season, WTAMU's coaching staff visited Cowboys' training camp to study their 3-4 scheme and implement some of the wrinkles therein before the 2009 campaign.

Don Carthel, Head Coach of West Texas A&M, says that this is one reason that King is a good hire for Dallas.

"I think he'll be awesome down there," Carthel said, per ESPN Dallas. "He knows the system and some of those players know him. He'll get the respect from the players in a hurry because they know what he's talking about. It's a great hire."

With King's signing, the Dallas coaching staff is complete. King will replace Dat Nguyen, who signed on last week as the linebackers coach for his alma mater, Texas A&M; Todd Grantham, who departed to assume defensive coordinator duties at the University of Georgia, will be replaced as defensive line coach by Paul Pasqualoni.
