Bengals Give Former Cowboy Terence Newman Two-Year Deal

Dallas parted ways with Newman after the 2011 season

The Cincinnati Bengals are bringing back veteran cornerback and former Cowboys star Terence Newman, with a reported two-year deal.

The Cowboys opted to part ways with Newman, their first round pick back in 2003, after nine seasons following the 2011 campaign.

Newman found a new home in Cincinnati, where he reunited with defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer--who held that position with Dallas from 2000-2006--and went on to lead the team in passes defended with 14. He also added a pair of interceptions, more than enough to impress Zimmer and co.

The Bengals defensive coordinator said of Newman recently, per the Dallas Morning News, that he is β€œthe kind of guy we want back as we work to keep our defense together.”

Cincinnati signed another former Cowboys corner, Adam β€œPacman” Jones, to a one-year deal earlier this offseason.
