Austin Still Not Practicing, Described as Day-to-Day

Miles Austin is once again dealing with a pesky hamstring issue

Cowboys receiver Miles Austin missed yet another practice on Friday, but head coach Jason Garrett won’t rule him out for this Sunday, when Dallas hosts the Vikings at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Garrett had suggested previously that the Cowboys might pull the reins on Austin’s return from a hamstring injury for fear that he’ll experience a setback and be out longterm. From his comments on Friday, it sounded like the team had followed through with that plan.

"It's day to day with Miles as it is with everybody and we'll see how it feels when he comes in and we come up with a plan for that day and we evaluate the work he's done over the course of the week and see if he's ready to go,” Garrett said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “He's a veteran player. He can play without getting a whole lot of reps but he has certainly been dialed back this week. We'll see how he does today."

Also missing from practice Friday was defensive end DeMarcus Ware, who is also day-to-day going into the Vikings game. Safety and special teams ace Danny McCray, meanwhile, returned to practice after spending the past week or so dealing with hip and toe issues.
