Are the Cowboys a “Dumb” Team?

Are the Dallas Cowboys a “dumb” team?

Wait, don’t answer that. We know what you’re going to say. And really, there’s good reason to think as much. In three losses this season, the Cowboys have showed an uncanny ability to shoot themselves in the collective foot consistently, and at all the worst times.

But at least one person believes that the Cowboys aren’t dumb, and, since those of this particular belief are so few in number, we’ll overlook the fact that he is a member of those Cowboys in question. In a recent interview with KRLD 1080 AM, nose tackle Jay Ratliff dismissed the notion.

"Absolutely not, it's not a dumb team,” Ratliff said, via the Dallas Morning News. “It's not a dumb team. Everyone is so sensitive and you have to be careful what you say.”

Ratliff argues that the team’s struggles have been overblown in the past and, as a result, the team has tuned out its detractors outside the locker room.

"We're not worried about what the media says,” Ratliff continued. “We know we made mistakes, we know we did things wrong. We weren't very disciplined. We're not happy about that at all. That's what it is. ... If we went undefeated and then lost our last game, it'd be the end of the world, still, down here, from what I've seen so far.”
