It’s just a couple of preseason games, but Cowboys rookie defensive end Randy Gregory continues to show promise.
The second rounder, who fell into the Cowboys’ laps as a result of some off-field concerns, recorded his second sack of the preseason on Sunday night as he dropped the 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick for a loss of 14 in the first quarter. He also drew a pair of holding penalties.
“I feel like he’s been consistent like that both games and I thought our practice against the Rams, too,” said Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, per the Dallas Morning News. “I thought he’s really shown his rush ability. The first couple of groups are starting to rush a little bit.”
On the preseason, Gregory now has four tackles and two sacks.
