Allen Wranglers To Welcome TO With Party Wednesday

The event starts at 6 p.m. in Allen, home of Terrell Owens' new team

If you’ve missed Terrell Owens since he was released by the Dallas Cowboys in March of 2009, you’ll have a chance to catch a glimpse of the embattled receiver tonight in Allen.

Owens’ new team, the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League, will formally welcome their new receiver with an event (fittingly) at the Allen Events Center tonight at 6:30 PM. Doors open at 6:00, and fans in attendance will be given popcorn upon entering. The welcoming party will last about an hour.

This marks the beginning of a somewhat inauspicious return to professional football for Owens, who, after spending 2009 and 2010 with the Bills and the Bengals, respectively, was unable to find a team in 2011, even after holding a public workout to show scouts that he had recovered from a non-football related knee injury.

In addition to playing for the Wranglers, the 38-year-old Owens is a co-owner of the team.
