Aikman Tweets Congratulations to Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning retired after 18 seasons in the NFL on Monday

Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned Fox analyst Troy Aikman joined in the chorus of congratulations for Peyton Manning on Monday night, in the hours following Manning’s retirement press conference.

Congratulations to my friend Peyton Manning on an outstanding career. I will miss watching him play. Retirement speech was pure class too!” Aikman tweeted.

Like Aikman, Manning was a No. 1 overall pick who won multiple Super Bowls and a Super Bowl MVP award, and many believe Manning’s next move could be something similar to Aikman’s move from the field to the announcing booth.

But that's all far off. For now, Manning finishes his playing career as the NFL's all-time leader in touchdown passes, passing yards and wins. His five MVP awards are more than any other player in history, and he became the first quarterback to win Super Bowls with two teams last month when the Broncos beat the Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
