Adviser: Dez is “In a Dark Place”

David Wells, adviser and friend to Dallas Cowboys’ receiver Dez Bryant, made an appearance on ESPN Radio’s “Ben & Skin Show” recently to discuss the flurry of lawsuits levied against Bryant, which were reported in a strange and steady stream throughout the week.

On the show, Wells said that the matter was weighing on Bryant heavily.

"I talked to him yesterday and he wants to get past this," Wells said, per ESPN Dallas. "He wants to get all these deals past him and closure. He’s in a dark place in his life. Until you find that light, you’re going to continue to be in a dark place."

Wells, who continued that Bryant has a plan in place to address these issues, was asked after the show to expand on his comment, that Bryant was in a “dark place,” by ESPN Dallas.

"When people are coming at you, and Dez doesn't like his name thrown out there, it bothers him,” Wells told reporters. “He just wants to be left alone."
