MDA Stride and Ride 2009

MDA STRIDE & RIDE 2009
to benefit the research effort of the Muscular Dystrophy Association

Join NBC 5’s Steve MacLaughlin at the MDA Stride and Ride 2009 Saturday, January 31, at Grapevine Mills Mall in Grapevine, TX.

This great event is for everyone. In its sixth year, the DFW Stride and Ride has become the largest Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Walk in the nation. In 2008, almost 2,000 participants raised more than $450,000. So, participate by being a team captain. Ask your friends, family, co-workers and join your team of five (5) or more.  Each member of the walk team is asked to raise a minimum of $85, which will fund one minute of vital research for MDA.

The premise is simple – create a team, raise money for research, then celebrate your team’s success by walking a one-mile “victory lap” around Grapevine Mills Mall.  There’ll be great fun for everyone with educational animals from the Dallas Zoo, face painting, team photos, mascots, musical entertainment including high school drum lines, refreshments, prizes and discounts from the mall merchants.
The NBC 5 School Challenge encourages youth participation. A $500 award will be given to the school raising the most money.

It’s not too late to register. Visit www.strideandridedfw.com or register in person at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 31, at Grapevine Mills Mall.

The MDA Stride and Ride is sponsored by NBC 5, Citgo, Womack Machine Supply, Majors Medical Services, Self Opportunity, Tara Energy, GEICO, eduphorial! Incorporated, the big 96.3KSCS and the Grapevine Courier.
