Why Renoir Matters: A Conversation

Friday, Nov. 15

NBC 5 and the Kimbell Art Museum invite you to a free special evening lecture at the Kimbell Art Museum, Friday, Nov. 15, with Artist Lisa Yuskavage and Curator Alison de Lima Greene.

In conjunction with Renoir: The Body, The Senses, artist Lisa Yuskavage and curator Alison de Lima Greene will discuss the impact of Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s painting on the history of art and why Renoir matters today.

Lisa Yuskavage's highly original approach to figurative painting has challenged conventional understandings of the genre for over 30 years. She received her BFA from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and her MFA from the Yale University School of Art. Alison de Lima Greene is the Isabel Brown Wilson Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where she has been on the curatorial staff since 1984.

Join in on a special evening lecture at the Pavilion Auditorium and enjoy happy hour at the Pavilion Café beforehand. Guest will have the opportunity to receive half-price exhibition tickets from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. To learn more, visit www.kimbellart.org.
