Wednesday, April 24

Join NBC 5 and VolunteerNow for the 13th Annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon on Wednesday, April 24, at the Belo Mansion in Dallas. Barbara Pierce Bush - daughter of former President George W. and Mrs. Bush, and co-founder of Global Health Corps - will provide keynote remarks.

Lydia Novakov, a Dallas native, devotes her life to improving her hometown. She helped raise nearly $1 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is a former president of the Junior League of Dallas, and currently serves as a Southwestern Medical Foundation trustee. Mrs. Novakov supports numerous nonprofit organizations in a variety of roles, including: on the board of directors for the Hoblitzelle Foundation; as a member of the Finance Council for the Catholic Diocese of Dallas; and as an Honorary Lifetime Director for the Senior Source.

For nearly 100 years, The Junior League of Dallas has been committed to developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Each year, 5,000 volunteers generously give 130,000 hours to dozens of nonprofits.
