Enrollment Deadline for Health Insurance Marketplace โ€“ March 31

There is still time to choose a health plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace. But time is running out -- the enrollment deadline is March 31, 2014.

The Health Insurance Marketplace is a new way for Texans without insurance to find health care coverage that fits their budgets and meets their needs. Individuals and families can compare prices, benefits, and other important features before selecting a plan.

Health insurance plans are now required to cover 10 categories of essential health benefits โ€“ including emergency services, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, and prescription drug coverage. No one can be denied coverage by an insurance company for a pre-existing condition. Whether you had cancer or have asthma, you can find affordable, quality coverage.

The Health Insurance Marketplace is a new, simpler way for uninsured Americans and their families to purchase health insurance. Coverage offered through the Marketplace includes a range of options so consumers can pick a plan that best meets their needs, the needs of their family and their budget.

There are no longer any annual limits on health care coverage, which means that if you get sick, thereโ€™s no cap on what the insurance company will pay.
