Blue Zones Project®, Fort Worth Kick-off Event

NBC 5 is helping Blue Zones Project paint Fort Worth blue!

Join our own Deborah Ferguson at the official kick-off of Blue Zones Project, Fort Worth from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Round Up Inn at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.

Blue Zones Project is a community-led well-being initiative aimed at making healthier choices easier for people who live, work, and play in Fort Worth.

Mayor Betsy Price will lead the kick-off event, along with featured speaker Dan Buettner, a National Geographic explorer and best-selling author of The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who’ve Lived the Longest. Blue Zones areas are places in the world where people live measurably longer, happier lives with lower rates of chronic diseases and a higher quality of life.

Blue Zones Project Kick-off is a free, family-friendly event filled with cooking presentations, interactive games, and local performers. So, bring your friends and family and find out how you can incorporate Blue Zones principles into your daily life.

At the kick-off, you’ll also hear about ways that you can get involved through community groups, personal pledges, and volunteering. Complimentary childcare will be available during the keynote presentation.
