Weather Wonders

Where does rain come from? How do tornadoes form? What is wind?

During the school year, North Texas children get answers to these questions and learn about more "Weather Wonders" from NBC 5 meteorologist Steve MacLaughlin.

Our weather expert is reaching out to the community and using his expertise to teach area students about the science of weather.

Every Wednesday morning during the school year, Steve conducts weather workshops at both the Science Place in Dallas and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, where he demonstrates how the NBC 5 Weatherteam prepares daily forecasts.

He also explains how weather in North Texas and across the globe impacts our lives.

One lucky student in each workshop will be designated photographer for the day to operate the "KID CAM" and capture footage that will be featured every Wednesday on NBC 5's First at Four newscast.
