Rain on Monday is a welcome sight for fire crews who have been battling wildfires throughout Texas.

Firefighters have been battling some blazes throughout the state, including two large fires in West Texas.

The Texas Forest Service says bulldozers were on the scene of a 2,300-acre weekend fire in Haskell County. A 1,000-acre blaze was fought in Shackleford County.

Smaller fires also were reported in Palo Pinto, Throckmorton, Angelina, San Jacinto, Tyler and Fayette counties.
