A weak cold front will move through North Texas Tuesday evening.  More showers and thunderstorms are developing ahead of the front, but these will generally remain south and east of the Metroplex.

Much heavier storms moved across our area Monday evening and overnight into early Tuesday morning.  These storms produced lightning that caused power outages in parts of the Metroplex.

But the biggest effect of the storms was the heavy rain which caused flooding of streets in many locations.  Here are some of the heavier rainfall totals recorded in the previous 24 hours:

 Huckabay  4.68"

Granbury 3.45"

Aledo 4.32"

Sansom Park 4.22"

Bedford  4.35"

DFW Airport  3.91"

Richardson  4.20"

Tuesday night's storms will be much lighter, but the southern and eastern counties of North Texas will definitely see scattered showers.

For the Dallas-Fort Worth area the rain appears to be over.
