Flurries Possible Today, Thursday

You will want to wear a jacket and bring an umbrella Monday ... and maybe a scarf.

After beginning to fall Sunday evening, rain continued soaking the already saturated ground through the night and into Monday morning.

Isolated storms are expected to continue throughout the day and even some snow flurries are possible, according to NBC DFW meteorologist Jennifer Lopez. (See the full forecast here.)  The rain will slowly work it's way to the east throughout the day, leaving colder air in its wake.  Wind gusts overnight into Tuesday could reach 25 to 30 mph.

Should any flurries fall they should be of no threat on the roadways. Which is good since Monday morning's rain posed enough of a challenge for many drivers during the morning commute.

Interstate 20 in Arlington near Bowman Springs Road has been shut down due to a crash involving as many as 10 vehicles.  Five people were transported to hospitals and officials are looking into weather being a factor in the crash.  I-20 will remain closed until all of the cars have been cleared from the scene.

Earlier in the morning, a big-rig overturned and came to rest on its side on the exchange from southbound Loop 820 to southbound state Highway 287 in Fort Worth that caused traffic to be diverted for several hours.  In Dallas, two lanes of Interstate 35E were backed up between Interstate 635 and Webb Chapel Road due to a crash.  There was a second crash on Stemmons heading north near Inwood.

The weather for the rest of the week looks much the same as Monday -- cold, cloudy and wet.  On Tuesday, Lopez expects morning wind chills in the teens with a low of 27.

Wednesday's forecast is simliar, though on Thursday things get a little more interesting when rain, sleet and snow are possible.
