A strong cold front has pushed through North Texas, resulting in much cooler weather today. Morning temperatures in the upper 50s will slowly push into the upper 60s later today. Meanwhile, mostly cloudy skies can be expected with a northeast breeze.
Dry weather is expected today, but it will not last. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will roll in late tonight and into Saturday. The rain will be heavy at times and last for several hours Saturday. In fact, some areas could receive over 2" of rain on Saturday. Fortunately, severe weather is not expected. A couple showers could stretch into Sunday morning, but the bulk of the wet weather this weekend will be on Saturday.
Dry and sunny weather will start next week. Temperatures will gradually warm back up in to the 80s by midweek. Thunderstorm chances may return again late next week.
