Boat and business owners at Eagle Mountain Lake are cleaning up after storm damage ruined several boats at Lakeview Marina.

Wednesday's storms tore the roof off a dock at Lakeview Marina on Eagle Mountain Lake, but most of the boats were not damaged.

Marina manager Shayna Christiansen saw the damage when she drove up to the marina minutes after the storm blew through. She called the marina owner and told him how wind had ripped the roof off a dock and slammed it into another dock.

"I think the first thing I said to him was, 'The A dock was gone,' and he said, 'What do you mean the A dock is gone? There was a storm?' And I was like, 'Yeah, it just blew away,'" she said.

Boat owners checked on the condition of their boats Thursday.

Thomas McMichael said he lost some fishing rods from his boat, which was in fine shape other than a few dings and scratches from blowing debris.

"I thought I was going to find the rest of the marina on top of the boat is what I thought," he said. "Then I got down here to the boat and saw it was minor damage."

Christiansen said she doesn't know the dollar amount for the damage but believes that insurance people have been out to take a look.

Cleanup and repairs should begin within a few days, she said.
