The southbound lanes of Farm-to-Market Road 2499 at Lakeside Village Parkway in Flower Mound have reopened after being closed due to high water.
The town of Flower Mound reported the road closure at about 3 p.m. Thursday.
By 4 p.m., the entirety of the southbound side was flooded at Gerault and Enterprise drives and crews had begun blocking off the northbound side to just one lane as water began pooling up there.
Similar flooding occurred last summer and shut down a section of FM 2499 for multiple days as crews waited for the water to go down and then had to inspect it to assure it was still safe.
As of about 5 p.m., the water had receded slightly, but was still present and more rain showed possible on radar.
Traffic on FM 2499 northbound was also backed up well beyond Grapevine Mills Mall due to the situation.
