Road crews have stabilized a retaining wall that collapsed in Fort Worth on Friday, but say there are dozens of other trouble spots in North Texas.

The Texas Department of Transportation said Monday that heavy rains have caused the ground to give way in more than 50 places along highways in seven North Texas counties.

TxDOT's Mark Pettit said the agency cannot do much except watch.

"It's the ground; it's saturated with water, and it's just mud, and you can't do anything with mud," he said.

Pettit said TxDOT is monitoring all the danger spots.

"Right now, none of the slides are affecting traffic flow," he said.

A 20-foot section of a concrete retaining wall fell onto a Nissan Murano at about 4:30 p.m. Friday  The wall caused a sport utility vehicle to flip over, injuring the driver.

The incident took place along Vickery Boulevard near Hulen Street, which was closed while a temporary fix was implemented to keep the wall in place over the weekend.
