NTTA's Trinity Parkway Gap Hits $1 Billion

advertisement

The Trinity Parkway in Dallas is facing massive funding problems.

The Dallas Morning News reports the parkway could cost nearly $1 billion more than the North Texas Tollway Authority can afford to pay.

The Trinity Parkway is a 10-mile toll road extending from Interstate 35E South to U.S. 175, bypassing around downtown Dallas.

So far, it's not clear how additional funds will be raised.

Top transportation leaders said there are other places to get the money to continue the road construction and to keep the project on schedule.

The toll road is now expected to cost between $1.8 and $2.1 billion.
