Tractor-Trailer Damages Overpass at I-30, 360

Toll booths on Interstate 95 and many Connecticut bridges were dismantled 20 years ago after seven people died in a crash at the Stratford toll plaza.

Arlington police said a tractor-trailer on Interstate 30 hit the State Highway 360 overpass Wednesday night.

Authorities said an 18-wheeler hauling a forklift took out a chunk of the overpass near Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington at about 8:50 p.m. Police said the tractor-trailer was too big to go under the bridge.

The Texas Department of Transportation said the northbound exit ramp from Highway 360 to Lamar Boulevard will be closed until early next year. Repairs will start after the holidays and take about a week, TxDOT said.

Concrete started falling onto I-30, so police and fire units closed eastbound I-30 and northbound Highway 360 for about two hours. TxDOT inspectors determined I-30 could be reopened after the roadway was cleared.
