True Traffic Test in Arlington

Traffic test in Arlington as events take place at Cowboys Stadium and Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
It was a first for the city of Arlington, simultaneous sporting events at Rangers Ballpark and Cowboys Stadium.
Cowboys stadium played host to the CONCACAF Gold Cup with Costa Rica vs. Guadalupe at 3 p.m. and Mexico vs. Haiti at 6 p.m.
Then, the Rangers were set to play against the Minnesota Twins at 7 p.m. causing city officials to prepare extensively to avoid a traffic nightmare.
The events were staggered so city officials hoped that would relieve some traffic congestion.
"It was not a problem at all. We came, I guess, in between events and we pulled right into parking," said Mark Miller, who was going to the Rangers game.
It was when the Mexico vs. Haiti game finished that the traffic slowed to a crawl as thousands of fans tried to leave at the same time.
Still, Arlington Police reported only a couple of minor fender benders and said there were no major incidents. They said their first traffic test was a successful one.
