Paul, Pudge Draw Thousands, But Not Traffic Snarls
Few headaches reported as McCartney, Rangers, wow crowds

Tens of thousands of concertgoers and baseball fans flooded Arlington’s entertainment district at the same time Wednesday night, but few traffic or parking headaches were reported.
“It went fairly smoothly,” said Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard.
Paul McCartney sang old Beatles tunes for a largely baby-boomer crowd at Cowboys Stadium, while Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez wowed baseball fans in his return to the Texas Rangers.
He ended up scoring his first time at bat.
Many fans had to walk blocks in the heat from parking lots costing as much as $40, but most drivers managed to avoid long traffic tie-ups to get there.
"The best way to get to the stadium area, whether you're going to the Rangers game or to Cowboys stadium, is to come in from the south or the west,” Richard said. “Those are the ways we have a lot less traffic."
Richard suggested exiting Interstate 30 at Cooper Street and coming in from the west or using Interstate 20 from the south.
The Center and Collins streets exits off I-30 remain closed because of construction.
Some McCartney fans decided to arrive hours early and start tailgate parties.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing for us,” said one fan.
