High gas prices have North Texans ditching their cars, trucks and SUV's in favor of DART trains and buses.

In September, more than 81,800 passengers rode the DART rails, a double digit jump over the same period last year.

DART bus service also jumped 4% with more than 174,000 people riding the bus.

DART is the state's largest commuter rail system and has plans to expand service by adding 90 miles of track over the next 5 years.
