Dallas Area Rapid Transit reported ridership increases in December.

DART bus ridership jumped more than 3% with more than 3 million people hopping on board.

DART rail saw an 8% jump in the number of riders with more than one-point-six million people riding the rails.

The Trinity Railway Express experienced a large increase of nearly sixteen-percent to 215,000 riders.

Use of the HOV lanes jumped more than 40% to 4.3 million users.

The increases came despite lower gas prices during the month of December.
