Seven DART Police officers will be part of the largest-ever presidential inaugural security detail next week in Washington, DC.

The volunteers (two corporals and five officers) were selected based on the recommendations of their supervisors.

They will help support security efforts of DART's counterpart transit agency, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro).

Metro officials are expecting record ridership on their bus and rail system and have asked for support from 18 transit agencies across the country to help with crowd control.
