    Authorities said one person was killed in a crash that shut down Texas 161 in Grand Prairie for hours Wednesday morning.

    Grand Prairie police said the driver died after the vehicle crashed on northbound Texas 161 near Interstate 30 just after 3 a.m.

    A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

    The northbound lanes of Texas 161 were shut down until about 9 a.m.

    No further details have been released.
