Drivers in Dallas can expect traffic delays on Friday and Saturday.
A segment of Abrams Road between Patrick and Trammel drives will be closed to through traffic from 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 until 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
This closure is due to the installation of the Katy Trail pedestrian bridge over Abrams Road.
Traffic will be routed around the bridge installation site via Mockingbird Lane, Skillman Street and Lovers Lane.
Drivers will still be able to access homes in the area.
There will be lights and noise during the overnight hours that is generated by the cranes and other heavy equipment necessary for the installation.
"For the second time we appreciate the patience from commuters and those who live in the area," Public Works Director Rick Galceran in a statement. "The Skillman Street Bridge was completed two weeks ago without a glitch and we're again planning for a smooth process this weekend with the Abrams Road installation."
The project is subject to change due to weather conditions.
