Ramp to U.S. 75 Closed for Overturned Semi

Crews worked quickly to upright big rig and open roadway

The Texas Department of Transportation said it expected the eastbound Woodall Rogers ramp to northbound U.S. 75 to be closed through rush hour Tuesday after a semi-truck overturned. But as of 2:45 p.m. the road was open and traffic was flowing smoothly.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office, Dallas Police Department, Dallas Fire-Rescue and TxDOT responded to the scene at about 12:45 p.m.

The 18-wheeler was hauling fencing supplies when it overturned. No one was taken to the hospital, and Dallas Hazmat crews were called in to help clean up oil leaking from the semi's engine.

Message boards advised drivers to seek alternate routes.

TxDOT reported the ramp was expected to be closed through evening rush hour, but Chopper 5 showed crews making progress moving the semi out of the way. As of 2:45 p.m. the road was open again.
