One Dead in Fiery Crash Along Central Expressway Service Road

One person is dead after a fiery crash on Lovers Lane at the southbound Central Expressway service road early Tuesday morning.

Dallas police said a 19-year-old man died in the single car crash just after 4 a.m.

Police said the teen driver tapped another vehicle on U.S. Highway 75 and drove off, the driver of the vehicle that was hit followed the car and witnessed the teen crash into a pole.

The car caught fire immediately.

Eastbound Lovers Lane was closed to traffic and the southbound Central Expressway service road was also closed as crews cleared the crash scene and cleaned up spilled fuel.

Drivers were advised to use Northwest Highway or Mockingbird Lane to access U.S. 75.

All roads in the area were reopened just before 7 a.m.
