A travel group says more Texans are expected to hit the holiday roads this winter, compared to last year.

AAA Texas on Thursday projected 7.5 million Texans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the year-end holidays, up about 3 percent from the 7.3 million who traveled a year ago. This season's holiday time frame is Dec. 23 to Jan. 2, 2011.

The association says about 7 million of Texans planning to travel over the holidays are expected to drive.

AAA, in its nationwide forecast, expects 92.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the year-end holidays.
