NTTA: Rains Caused Toll Road to Buckle

Recent rains caused a local toll road to buckle three feet, NTTA officials said Sunday.

The buckling road was discovered Sunday morning on the westbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike near Kelly Boulevard in Carrollton, North Texas Tollway Authority public information officer Sherita Coffelt said.

Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety shut down two lanes of  state Highway190 while crews worked to fix the road.

Coffelt said Sunday they think the recent rains caused a wall to shift which, in turn, buckled the road."

"Motorists should expect delays associated with lane closures necessary to keep motorists safe and enable NTTA crews to begin repair activities beginning Sunday night and continuing into the week," Coffelt said in a prepared statement.
